As a woman and a first-generation college student, I’ve had a long-standing interest in broadening the participation of women, minorities, and first-generation college students in physics and astronomy.

One of the reasons I joined the faculty at Vanderbilt is that the department not only shares my interest, but is active in increasing diversity in  the hard sciences.

I’m happy to be a part of the Fisk-to-Vanderbilt Masters-to-PhD Bridge Program, and am looking for ways to do more.
