Professional Development

The Scopes for Schools program is founded on the belief that the most effective science teaching and learning occurs when teachers and students are engaged in true science "inquiry". Teachers in the Scopes for Schools program participate in an inservice workshop that introduces materials for teaching inquiry-based astronomy in the classroom.

Scopes for Schools is administered by Dr. Keivan Stassun, and is made possible through the support of the National Science Foundation and the Vanderbilt University Department of Physics & Astronomy.
